Some dojo offer introduction courses to teach beginning students the basics of etiquette (reiho), stance (kamae), cutting (suburi), drawing (nukitstuke), sheathing (noto), and vocabulary. These foundational concepts are important and students should have a strong base before joining the regular ongoing training at a dojo. If you are unfamiliar with these core concepts, ask the senior students (senpai) or teacher (sensei) at the dojo what you will need to begin your training.
